Joel's Birthday Party

This is the birthday boy.

These are my twin god-children. Noelle and Ethan.

On the 21 Feb, Joel's Parents (2 of my friends from Informatics days) threw a party for their 4 year old son. I've known this group of friends for more than 12 years now and I can turn to them in times of needs and trouble and they too. It's really hard to find a group of true friends and I am glad and praise the Lord for them and for their friendship. I pray that the Lord will bless each and everyone of them with good health and jobs and I pray for the children that they will be God-fearing children. Especially my god children.

For one thing that I know that the Lord will do for me is to always provide me with friends that I can love, cherish and be a support or have support from. Thank you Lord for all my friends you have brought along my way. I pray that You please them and keep them in your care always. Amen.

Saying Goodbye!!

Last week, this blog which I was following lately has made me realise that the starter of the blog Shin has passed away.

You know what inspired me about her blog? Well, simple... her note to everyone. She was asked by a friend to write a letter to address everyone at her memorial service.
I've been so inspired on writing a letter to address everyone should the day come for the Lord to take me home with Him. I know not when and the actual time that I may leave this earth. But what are the things that I want to share with everyone? How can I be a testimony for the Lord to others even after I die?
I've been thinking about this and am wondering what would my last words to everyone be? After I've written my letter I'll post it up. Let's watch and see.. ^_^
Strange right? Writing a letter to everyone even though I am still alive ha....

Jehovah Jireh.

This is an article which I wrote for my church Bethesda Bells. Enjoy it.

==================================
Jehovah Jireh, my Provider,
His grace is sufficient for me,
For me, for me!
Jehovah Jireh, my Provider,
His grace is sufficient for me.

My God shall provide all my needs,
According to His riches in glory.
He shall give His angels charge over me,
Jehovah Jireh cares for me,
For me, for me!
Jehovah Jireh cares for me.
===========================

This song has strung a chord in my heart. It has been almost 1 year and 5 months now since my mum has returned to her Maker, Our Lord and Heavenly Father. Till this very day, I still miss her. I miss talking to her, I miss her comforting words and most of all I miss her encouragement. My advice to all children young and old is, treasure your parents and spend as much time as you can with them while they are still by your side. When they fall asleep and return to our Lord, just like mine, you will have no regrets.

Looking back, the Lord has indeed been my provider. He has provided all our needs from people to help care for my mum when either my father or I could not be around, to financial provision, to provision for our daily needs.

After everything has been settled and I had time to reflect back to those long and tiring days and nights, I realised that I was not able to do it if not for our Great and Wonderful lord. He has indeed provided me with the strength and provisions to get me through those days.

The Lord has indeed been a wonderful provider to us all. Some times we think that our needs are small in comparison to those of others. But in the Lord's eyes, no need is too small for Him to provide if He thinks that it would benefit you. Like the Lord has told us in Hebrews 13:5 "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have", because God has said "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." He is true to His Words. When we are contented, we find true joy and happiness even though we find it hard to get through life. You need to remember that the Lord is always there with us each step of the way.

The following poem is also another encouragement to me when I am down or feeling the struggle and trials in life is just too much for me. Its entitled Footprints.
==================================
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamt he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child, I love you
and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

===================================

From providing for my needs while I was studying in Brisbane, to the time I came back to Singapore to work, the Lord's Hands have always been there to guide me. He guided me every step of the way even until this very day and is still doing so.

So let me encourage you my dear brothers and sisters, no matter how small your needs, troubles, or trials in life may be, God has told us "Ask and it will be given to us, Knock and the door shall be open, Seek and you shall find Him". He is there for us. Always beside us. When we are down, He will carry us through life. Amen!
